Miki Manabe ist Komponistin und Pianistin aus Saitama, Japan. Ihre erste musikalische Ausbildung schloss sie an der Omiya-Koryo-Oberschule in Saitama ab, anschließend studierte sie an der Hochschule für Musik Tokyo Klavier. Sie hat als Komponistin an zahlreichen Meisterkursen und Workshop im Inland und Ausland teilgenommen. Sie studierte Komposition zuerst in Bachelor und dann in Master an der Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main mit der Unterstützung des Starterstipendiums und Semesterstipendiums von der Gesellschaft der Freunde und Förderer der HfMDK.
Sie arbeitet zurzeit besonders im Bereich elektronische Musik sowie installative und experimentelle Musik. Sie interessiert sich an der klanglichen Phänomene und der verschiedenen interaktiven System. Sie verknüpft den musikalischen Ereignissen auch mit visuellen Elementen, die sie selbst darstellt.
Ihre Ensemble-Werke (mit und ohne Elektronik) wurde u.a. IEMA Ensemble, Zöllner-Roche-Duo und Trio Estatico uraufgeführt. Ihre Musik für Stummfilm wurde in der Sendung "Musikszene Hessen" von hr2 vorgestellt. In 2023 hat sie ihre erste Klanginstallation mit virtual reality erfolgreich aufgeführt.
Miki Manabe is a pianist and composer from Japan. She was born in Saitama and received her first piano lessons at the age of five. She completed her first musical education at the Omiya-Koryo High School and then studied piano and musicology at the Tokyo College of Music. During her studies there, she received also composition lessons. She has taken part in numerous master classes at home and abroad and has won scholarships. She studied composition first in Bachelor and then in Master at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts with the support of the starter scholarship and semester scholarship from the GFF of the HfMDK.
Her interest began with instrumental music, and she is now passionate about electronic composition, interdisciplinary projects and experimental music with or without visual components. She also likes to combine the musical events with visual elements that she herself produces. In 2023, she successfully performed her first sound installation with virtual reality.
Her ensemble works (with and without electronics) were premiered by the IEMA Ensemble, Zöllner-Roche-Duo and Trio Estatico, among others. Her music for silent films was presented in the radio program "Musikszene Hessen" on hr2. She is a winner of the open call for The Mechanics of Breath 2020.
